The immediate area around Aa Gård offers a vast choice of trails of contrasting difficulty excellent for skiers of all ages and ski levels.
Away from the mass tourism ski resorts destinations, the quiet fjord of Lavangen is the perfect location for a serene experience in the Norwegian wilderness. Ski equipments can be rented.
Aa-Gård’s CROSS-COUNTRY trails
Aa Gård. is grooming its own cross country tracks. You can excitingly open your cabin’s door, put your skis on, and explore for kilometres the Norwegian Arctic!
Our trails are perfect for beginners, or for quiet walk along the shore of Lavangen’s fjord. Snow sleighs can be borrow too for the happiness for the littles ones !
The more skilled skiers will appreciate the quick warm up around Aa Gård. before heading directly from our tracks to other long distance trails.
Lavangen’s XC TRAILS
The cross country ski season in Lavangen starts usually from end of December until the end of May – March and April being the most popular.
During the Polar Night, we suggest you try one if the three illuminated cross country ski trails, each about 3 km long.
There is also a ski competition going around Spanstind usually set in April. This trail is well prepared throughout the ski season.

Aa-Gård’s AFTER-SKI café
Over the weekends Aa-Gård opens it’s After-Ski Café.
What’s better to end an exciting ski day around Lavangen, then by treating yourself one of our tasty fresh home-made pastries?
Our cosy place has a view on the fjord and mountains, and if the sun is out, we recommend you to have a cup of hot chocolate on our wooden deck.
The choice of pastries often changes : chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon rolls, blueberry pie, carrot cake, chocolate fondant brownie or a muffin will be a tasty indulgence.

Ski TOURING
If you are looking for ski touring and off-piste skiing, there are many possibilities in this area including Skavneskollen 1196 m and Spandstind 1456 m.
Between the wide valleys in southern Troms rise majestic mountain tops with almost 1000 meters steep descents. A stable inland climate gives these peaks excellent snow conditions all winter. Most of the tops can be reached from the E6.
